Newborn Pictures

My wonderfully talented friend took newborn pictures of Daisy just a couple of days after we got home. They are amazing. These are just a few of my favorite but there were so many fabulous ones.

DAISY

Our sweet baby Daisy was born on September 25. She was a healthy size of 7lbs 10oz and 20 inches long. We love this little girl so much. She is such a sweet baby. We did have to stay an extra day in the hospital because he blood sugar was low but she overcame that quickly and is doing well.

Summer 2010

Inspite of me feeling not so wonderful we were able to squeeze in some fun. :)

Lucy had her dance recitial and was the most beautiful dancer (of course). Front row second from the left.

Went on several fun campouts, including this one that we take each year with good friends. This is the boys getting ready to shoot each other. Oh, dear!

We celebrated the 4th of July with friends from the neighborhood on Saturday night then on Sunday we did sparklers with Grandma and Grandpa Quist.

The kids took swimming lessons at BSU for 3 weeks. Wow, what a great program. The kids learned so much and had a great time. We will definately do that again.

Spring 2010

It is almost embarassing to start blogging again after not doing it for so long. BUT, I really do want to do this. :) I am going to start by recapping what has been happening in our life since my last post in Feb about Disneyland. Well, I was pregnant and I was so blessed to not start feeling sick during the pregnancy until after Disneyland, literally the next day. (The drive home was awful!) But from that point on I was sick the rest of my pregancy. Eeeewww! Inspite of not feeling well we did have some fun.

My brother Heath married a wonderful lady, Kayla!
I made that ardorable dress for Lucy and one for Jane to match. :)

We enjoyed a fun EASTER!

Celebrated May Day with the Coverley's (YEA for cousins)

Warren played spring soccer, had his 9th birthday and got really good at riding!

It was a good sping, keep your eyes peeled for summer I am working on it. I promise. :)

DISNEYLAND & Blaine's Birthday!!!

In the middle of February we took the family to DISNEYLAND. It was so wonderful to see the kids have so much fun. It was also a great trip because we were able to visit with a lot of family both on the way down and on the way home. Lucky Blaine, was able to celebrate his 5th birthday while we were at Disneyland. He only wore his birthday button for part of the day but the Disneyland employees did a great job wishing him a "Happy Birthday." It was truly a birthday to remember. Tyler was busy with work a few days were there but the magic made it fun even on the days he wasn't able to join us. Disneyland really was the happiest place on earth for our family for the week were there.
Being at Disneyland for that many days does bring a few "lost child" stories. Our first was in the hotel. Lucy loved the elevator and would race to be the first one in. One evening she was far too fast and beat the rest of us to the elevator by too much. After she got in the door began to closes and she give me this panicked look as I run towards the elevator yelling "put your hand in the door." I didn't make it but figured she wouldn't go anywhere if she didn't push any buttons and all I had to do was call the elevator back. So I pushed the button and immediately realize it was taking too long. When the elevator door opened she wasn't there. The next logical thing in my mind was that all the elevators rest down at the lobby so she must be there. I load all the other kids into the elevator and we head to the lobby. No Lucy. Now I am at a cross roads in trying to decided if I should search for her on the first floor or start traveling up the elevator to all of the floors. I decide to take the elevator. In not very many minutes I hit all of the floors and she is not in any of there lobby areas. It is time to get help so I go to the lobby (of course this is one of the times when Tyler is working so I am on my own). As soon as we hit the lobby I can hear Lucy crying but it is coming not from the lobby but the pool area. I rush over to the pool and while calling her name I look for her but I don't see her until I look up. She is on the 3rd floor balcony overlooking the pool. REALLY, why there? Once she sees me and I calm her down it doesn't take me long to get to her. Then on the way to Disneyland we all have a long talk about the reason mom tells you to stay put when you are lost.
Second "lost child" story we are actually in the Park. Jane was taking her usual afternoon stroller nap so I sat out on the Mike & Sulley ride while Tyler took the other kids. While I am waiting my cell phone rings and through an unclear signal I hear that these people calling me have Lucy and are over by the Ladybug teacups (if you know California Adventure you know these rides aren't next to each other). I tell the people on the phone I will be there in just a moment. All the time thinking, how did we lose Lucy, I just watched her walk in Mike & Sulley with Ty and then for her to get all the way over to the Ladybug teacups is just weird. Of course I start sprinting across the park with my stroller until an employee stops me and tells me I can't cross because a float is about to come through. I look at him and with "crazy mom" written all over my face I say "My little girl is lost over there and if you don't let me through you had better go find her." Not surprisingly he let me through. I get to the Ladybug teacups and there is no Lucy to be seen. Now I am running in circles getting panicked. I call the number and a nice little family who I have noticed watching me waves at me and hold up Lucy's autograph book. Aaaggghhh. All that drama because I couldn't hear them clearly on my phone. I truly was glad they returned the autograph book and thanked them accordingly but was also pretty embarrassed about how I had just ran through the park like a crazy person.

The Disneyland love'n crew

This was the last day. Everyone melted down at some point. Blaine just still small enough to be cute while melting down. :)

Pluto's Kitchen was a hit. We went for Blaine's birthday and we will definitely go back next time we come.

What is Disneyland without Mickey Mouse?
The Parks were packed while we were there. Northern Cali was out of school for the week and the temp was in the 70's the whole time. So much for going during the off season.

"The Injury"

The last week of January ended up being far too exciting. Tyler plays soccer on an indoor soccer league and has enjoyed doing so for a number years. He has always managed to come away without any injury .... that is until now. Shortly after halftime the ball was coming toward Tyler at chest level so he went down to head the ball and an opponent also decided to go for the ball but decided to use a high kick (BIG no, no in soccer). Tyler's face and the other guy's foot collided, BUT Tyler did head the ball into the goal. YEA! After falling to the ground, Tyler jumped up and played the rest of the game giving no indications that anything might be wrong. After the game as the players gathered together it didn't take long for them to realize something was definitely wrong with Tyler. He was talking in little circle (15-30 seconds)and found everything SO funny. His buddy decided Tyler was definitely not fit to drive so he drove Tyler home and when they got home it was quite clear to me that Tyler was not right. Of course this was one of their late games so it is almost midnight. After arranging for my dad to come be with my kids, I loaded up Tyler and headed down to the ER. All of this time he is still talking in little circles and laughing A LOT. All of this scans turned out clear so he was diagnosed with a concussion; yeah, nothing lasting or serious. The awful part of the situation for me was that from midnight until 4:00am Tyler kept asking "What happened?" and "What time is it?" over, and over, and over and if I didn't act like I was genuinely happy to answer those questions for the millionth time in the middle of night he would get all worked up. Luckily he finally got tired and when to sleep at 4:00am. We did have to stay at the hospital the next day because he was slow at coming around in his short term memory but by the next day he was showing enough improvement they let us go home. The next week was spent with Tyler sleeping a lot and finding his marbles but we are happy to report that he now doing great and only lost 3 days. What an adventure. Let's NOT do that again!

Happy Birthday to Lu!

Lucy turned 7 years old this January. She had a fun birthday with the family and cute party. This year Lucy wanted a "Baking" themed birthday. At first I was a little stumped on what to do at a "Baking" party. But we made our own pizzas, decorated our own cupcakes and made aprons. It turned out to be a lot of fun for the girls. I am so happy Lucy is my girl. She is so easy going and is always trying to help others be happy. I love you Lucy!

Santa

We had the priveldge of attending a fun Christmas party our friends the Amadors put on with none other than SANTA! The kids had a great time singing Christmas Carols with Santa, sitting on his lap and of course telling him what they wanted for Christmas. Santa brought each child a small toy which my kids were all thrilled with. This year my boys were all about asking for video games but Lucy asked for a sewing machine, which just about made her mother giddy. Thanks for the great party Amadors! The kids had a blast and we enjoyed the magic of the evening. I had my camera on some funky setting that night so everyone has horrible red eye. Oops.
