Swimming Lessons

Warren (little fishy)

Blaine (notice the scowl, he was a little more finicky about swim lessons
some days he loved it, others not so much)

Lucy (splash queen)

The kids did a great job at swimming lessons this year. We swam with the Hymas' again this year and the kids loved it. Kara and Stacey are great teachers and really help my kids learn and enjoy the water. After having unseasonably warm weather in May, our June weather made up for it. I have always enjoyed spring weather but when it is June and the kids are trying to do swim lessons it is a bit of pain. The kids didn't seem to mind the wind and the rain too much. I guess once they are in the pool it isn't too bad. Good work at swim lessons kiddos.

Jane (no swimming just a good sport)

Warren's Baptism

We have been looking forward to Warren's baptism for quite some time now. Warren has been talking more about his baptism a lot more than about his birthday these past few months and I am so pleased to see how hard he has wanted to be ready for this special step in his life. The last week before his baptism he became a little concerned about whether he was really ready to be accountable but we talked and I told him that if he is concerned that is probably a good sign that he is ready. He will work hard to please the Lord. Warren had a lot of support for his special day. His Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, Uncle Zack and Aunt Kendall, Uncle Ben and Aunt Melissa, Ethan and Caleb, and Molly all came from his Tyler's side of the family. His Grandma and Grandpa Quist, Aunt Noel and Uncle Matt, Uncle Tyrone, and Uncle Nate all came from Coralee's side of the family. Of course his mom and dad and brother and sisters were there too. He also receive a lot of support from the ward. Congratulations. I am so proud of you!

Camping on Memorial Day Weekend

We had a FUN Memorial Day weekend camping trip with the Romney, Warren and Amador families. We headed up to Garyback Gulch for just one night. It was short but a great time. We let the kids play in dirt, throw rocks in river and eat too much junk food. The next day we headed into Idaho City to explore the town. The town has some neat history but not much to do so after wandering the streets for a while we enjoyed some yummy ice cream.
We did bring Jane too. I just don't have a picture of her. Acutally, I am lucky to have these ones seeing as I didn't use my camera the whole time I was there. Thanks for the pics Amanda.

Ballet Recital

Lucy completed another year of ballet with Ms. Cindy. She had a fabulous time and we are sure going to miss Ms. Cindy next year; she has been great. The dance recital was very cute and Lucy loved getting all dressed up. She did a dance to "My Magic Tutu" and did a cheer routine to "The Girls on Minnie Street." All of pictures of the recital are a bit far away but Lucy is in the back row second from the left (elbow a little high).

Still back row second from the left this time with the pom poms behind her shoulders.

Eight is GREAT!

Warren had his 8th birthday on May 15th. He had a fun friend party with a bunch of boys from the neighborhood and school. The day we held the party was really warm so we ended up having a water balloon fight for the majority of the party. (So much for mom's well planned games.) The boys all had tons of fun, especially Warren. Every year that passes I am more impressed with this boy. He is growing up to be a very responsible, caring young man. He does have a lot of the same teasing habits as his dad but most of the time that is really cute too (unless he is teasing his mother.) I love you Warren. I am proud to call you mine.

Easter

We had a fabulous Easter this year. The kids always look forward to the Easter morning Easter Egg Hunt. We also dyed easter eggs that day and did an Easter Egg Hunt out at Grandma Quist's house. Grandma Quist hides hunderds of eggs in her yard. I am always amazed at how many she has. The kids LOVE all of the candy and had a good time as well.

Blaine's Battery

KIDS! What else can I say! Blaine found a watch type battery on the floor, unsure of what it was he brought it to me and asked if he could play with it. I told him no and that he needed to set it next to the TV. A few minutes later I see him playing with the battery and so I ask him again to put it next to the TV. Being that he is 4 years old I wasn't so worried that he had the battery I just didn't want it to get lost. Anyway a couple of minutes later I see he has something in his mouth, I am worried it is the battery so I tell him to spit whatever is in his mouth out. He starts to stand up and starts coughing then he swallows the battery. Great my kid just swallowed a battery. I call the Pediatrician to see what the portocol is for swallowed batteries. She is very animate that I take him in right away because it contains lythium. We hurry to the hospital and the ER doctors scares me when she tells me that if they can't reach it by going in through his mouth they will have to do an emergency surgery so they can get it out quickly. She then calls the doctor who would do the surgery. He says it isn't anything to worry about and to let it pass. Why the first doctor couldn't have told me that I don't know but it sure would have saved me a lot of anxiety (and cash). Anyway Blaine had a great time in the hospital they gave him this handmade teddy bear and he watched the Disney Channel the whole time. Not even one poke. On our way home he told me how much he liked going to the hospital and asked when we could go back. SCREAM!

Spring

My kids have been antsy to get out and enjoy the nice spring weather. This little 4 wheeler seems like it only works about 1 week out of 4 but the kids sure love it. One day when I asked the kids to go load up into the car I found this. Warren was teasing me but I am not sure that if I did tell him he could take his baby sister for a ride that he wouldn't have. Yay for nice weather!
